The Director General of the Center Chairs a Master’s Thesis Defense Committee Professor Dr. Mohammed Mahmoud Farhan, Director General of the Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University, chaired the defense committee for the master’s thesis titled “Expression of CD276 and HER2 Biomarkers in Bladder Tumor in Iraqi Patients” by researcher Zahraa Dawood Salman at the College of Science, University of Baghdad. The study aimed to evaluate the molecular expression of the studied biomarkers in bladder tumor patients in Iraq. The research findings indicated significant differences between the patient samples and the control group, suggesting the potential use of these biomarkers for predicting disease occurrence. The defense concluded with the researcher receiving an Excellent grade for the quality of her project and her confident and scientific defense of her thesis

The Biotechnology Research Center Holds a Workshop on Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) The Biotechnology Research Center at Al-Nahrain University organized a workshop on Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) in collaboration with the Central Safety and Firefighting Department of OPDC, the Oil Products Distribution Company under the Ministry of Oil. The workshop lasted for two consecutive days. The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of health and safety in the workplace. It featured presentations on occupational health and safety standards, with the first session focusing on office building safety and the second on developing and implementing emergency response plans. Participants discussed exposure to chemicals and noise, types of fire extinguishers, and safety requirements for government facilities, including buildings and laboratories. Additionally, they reviewed the design of fire suppression systems based on appropriate conditions. The workshop concluded with an emphasis on establishing an emergency plan to handle potential accidents.
